For increased focus and sensory input to the hand|||This ultimate sensory tool to work on handwriting skills! ARK's Tran-Quill™ Pencil has a smooth, gentle vibration that provides sensory input to the hand without affecting the actual writing/drawing. The vibration, texture, and weight of the handle can help increase focus and concentration, improve rote muscle memory, normalize writing speed, increase hand strength and dexterity, and decrease the grip force used to hold the crayon. Perfect for homework, note-taking, and more. Highly recommended for individuals with sensory integration issues and/or poor fine motor control.
Kit includes: 1 Z-Vibe® handle, 1 pencil adapter, 6 small pencils. The pencil adapter screws into the Z-Vibe® like every other tip, and the pencils fit nicely into the adapter. Choose your handle color from the pull down menu above.
Caution: this is NOT a toy. The Tran-Quill is a therapeutic tool that contains small parts (including a battery). Direct supervision is required at all times. Not for children under 3 years.
The Z-Vibe with Tran-Quill Pencil attachment is a mainstay for my daughter with autism while doing her school work. She needs the oral motor input to concentrate and focus. Ordinary pencil toppers do not give enough input and are not sturdy enough as the Z-Vibe Tran-Quill Pencil. Her tutor and teachers say it is the only oral motor pencil solution that has worked well for classroom writing and worksheet tasks. Kelly
My son, who has sensory integration issues, has one Z-Vibe Pencil at school and one at home. Since putting this tool into his therapeutic repertoire, he can complete written work more easily and is able to focus on school work because of the oral-motor stimulation the tool provides. I even tried writing with the pencil, and my handwriting was much better- a great tool, and one that looks cool enough at school that my son is willing to use it. Kristen
Review: I am a pediatric COTA and recognized the need for oral stimulation for my son when he was anxious. Well, reading and writing caused him anxiety and frustration so I bought this for him to try with the Bite-n-Chew Tip add on. He is doing well with his reading and writing homework and it is less frustrating for us all. Devra
