Try all 6 for a savings with this sampler pack|||All of ARK's Y-Chews sold together for a savings!  This pack includes:

2 Y-Chews (light blue and yellow) - soft and chewy, recommended for mild chewers and/or those with limited jaw strength / oral tone
2 Y-Chew XTs (orange and turquoise) - firmer and "Xtra Tough," recommended for moderate chewers and/or those who exert more jaw pressure
2 Y-Chew XXTs (red and royal blue) - super firm and "Xtra Xtra Tough," recommended for avid chewers and/or those who prefer to chew on very hard items

Use this sampler pack to see which toughness levels suit your needs.  Or, start with the soft one and graduate to the harder one to gradually build oral strength.  All of these oral motor chew tools exercise the lips, tongue, cheeks, and especially the jaw, allowing the mouth to learn and grow strong through oral exploration. They can also be used:

    • As an oral fidget for sensory seekers craving oral input and stimulation
    • As a safe alternative to biting/chewing on fingers, shirts, and other hazardous non-food items
    • To decrease thumb sucking, tooth grinding, and finger/knuckle biting
    • To practice biting/chewing skills without the risk of choking
    • To improve jaw strength, jaw stability, tongue movement, and other feeding skills
    • To satisfy the urge to chew for individuals who are fed through a g-tube
    • To build oral tone, strength, mobility, control, coordination, and endurance
    • To decrease oral sensitivities, oral defensiveness, and food aversions

Caution Caution: This product is not a toy.  Although these chew tools are sturdy and durable, no chew tool is indestructible.  Wear/tear may be expected given the nature of the intended use.  How long they last is typically equal to the amount and intensity of the chewing, as well as other variables (such as jaw strength, stress/anxiety levels, if other sensory strategies are in place, etc.).  While for some people a chew tool will last forever, for others with heavy/aggressive oral needs, they may go through it very quickly.  Please supervise at all times and replace if necessary if the item shows signs of wear and tear.   Insider tip: encourage individuals to chew on all three extensions to more evenly distribute the chewing.

    Features
    • The handle allows for an easy grip, and the extensions on the top part of the "y" make it easy to reach the back molar area we do most of our chewing.
    • Each arm has a different texture: one smooth, one ribbed, and one with gentle bumps. The varied texture helps introduce new sensations and decrease oral aversions.
    • The handle measures 2½ inches and the extensions measure 1¾ and 1¼ inches respectively.
    • Made in the USA.

    1. Great Chewing Tool

Each child I have introduced the Y-Chew to has taken to it immediately. It has worked as a great way to introduce textures to kids when the Y-chew is dipped in a puree.

    2. Try This First

I have a now three year old daughter with downs syndrome. She is like having a little puppy in the house chewing on everything - literally! We've tried the P's and Q's, even the T type chewy tubes. Although these were a good start, Veronica absolutely loves the Y chewy combo. I was hesitant to purchase a pack being new but am glad we did. The yellow is a little too flexible for her - I can see her manipulating it in an unsafe way, but the others are great! I highly recommend this for your child with or without sensory issues. Chewing is a major part of Veronica's oral sensory need. Also, we have the Z-vibe and it's seems these tools are closest to that instrument. Again, a great choice. Best of luck!
