ARK's DnZ-Vibe® Starter Kit - Customizable

Kit includes: your choice of 1 DnZ-Vibe® handle, 2 chew tools, and 4 tips, all in a sturdy plastic travel case. The standard starter kit includes: 1 Aluminum DnZ-Vibe®, 1 Grabber®, 1 Grabber XT®, 1 Probe Tip, 1 Preefer Tip, 1 Mini Tip, and 1 Hard Spoon Tip (as pictured). However, you can customize any of these options using the pull-down menus above. The unit comes with a special Vibe Battery not available in stores. We recommend buying a spare.

ARK's DnZ-Vibe® is a unique vibratory tool with extraordinary versatility for oral motor therapy and beyond. Even though it is only the size of a ball point pen, the DnZ-Vibe® provides a vast range of sensory stimulation. With over 30 interchangeable tips available in different shapes, sizes, colors, and scents, the possibilities are endless!

Why Vibration?
Most people are either auditory or visual learners. Sometimes, however, these two senses are not enough, and we must look to other options, such as the sense of touch. Speech-Language Pathologists have been trained to use tactile input to teach individuals how to lateralize their tongue, elevate their tongue tip, make a tongue bowl, close their lips, learn a rotary chew, position the articulators for sound production, and various other oral motor skills. The DnZ-Vibe® is a tool to help therapists work on these skills in and around the mouth. It can always be used in the off position without vibration. Or, it can be turned on for additional sensory input with its smooth, gentle vibrations. Vibration provides a new level of sensory stimulation to increase awareness and to draw more acute attention to the articulators. Many individuals also find vibration to be calming and soothing. As a mouthing tools, ARK's Grabber and/or Y-Chew provide an excellent opportunity for the mouth to play through jaw movement, tongue movement, and oral exploration. The chewy, resilient material helps with oral defensiveness and food aversions by de-sensitizing the mouth. It is also a safe and durable alternative to tooth-grinding and/or chewing on hazardous non-food items.

• The DnZ-Vibe® has a lightweight, portable design. The handle (excluding the tip) measures about 4.67" in length and less than ½ an inch in diameter.
• One end of the handle is sealed off from the internal components so that no saliva, water, or moisture can enter from that end while working in the mouth. The Switch Tip at the opposite end of the handle turns the unit on and off and can be easily removed to replace the battery.
• The Switch Tip can also be replaced with another tip in order to use two tips simultaneously. For example, with a Probe Tip on one end and a Spoon Tip on the other, you can first "wake up" the mouth with the Probe Tip before quickly switching to feeding with the Spoon Tip.
• Made in the USA! The DnZ-Vibe® and all of its tips are manufactured in the United States from medical grade materials that are FDA compliant and contain no lead, phthalates, PVC, BPA, or latex.
• The DnZ-Vibe® is a durable and multi-functional tool that will last for years with proper care. As long as the hand piece is properly maintained, it is a one-time purchase. You need only replace the battery and/or a lost part as needed in order to make your unit brand new!

• While the DnZ-Vibe® is mainly used for oral motor stimulation, it can also be used outside the mouth on the cheeks, neck, and arms for additional sensory input.

Please note: the second video features the ProPreefer, but the same exercises can be done with the Preefer Tip. Both products have the same tip design, but the Preefer Tip is to be used with either the Z-Vibe® or DnZ-Vibe® for added vibration and sensory input.

I LOVE this item. It is an essential tool in feeding therapy. Customizable selection of tips lets you choose exactly what you want. Only wish i would have noticed it came with the book "Tips and Techniques.." because i ordered that in addition and ended up with two copies. Fast shipping.

Too many choices for a "starter kit", 8.27.2011

I expected a "starter" kit to have a set selection of products to begin getting more familiar with the tool. I'm sure there is demand for a fully customizeable kit, but I wouldn't call it a "starter." I ended up needing to take quite a bit of time looking back and forth between pages before I was able to select my tools. I wanted to one-click, and get a basic "starter" set.

This is such a great starter kit for the money you spend. You get a variety of the tips (and you get to choose which ones) so you can customize for specific clients. This should be in every SLP's bag of tools!!
