Soft, Chewy, and Textured, recommended for mild chewers and/or those with limited jaw strength - click to see more colors|||ARK's Y-Chew® is an oral motor chew tool that comes in 3 color-coded toughness levels.  This version (light blue or yellow) is soft and chewy, recommended for mild chewers, and/or those with limited oral tone who need to build up their jaw strength.

The Y-Chew features 3 different extensions to chew on, each with its own texture (smooth, ribbed, and bumpy) for a varied sensory experience.  Use it to exercise the lips, tongue, cheeks, and especially the jaw, allowing the mouth to learn and grow strong through oral exploration. It can also be used:

    • As an oral fidget for sensory seekers craving oral input and stimulation
    • As a safe alternative to biting/chewing on fingers, shirts, and other hazardous non-food items
    • To decrease thumb sucking, tooth grinding, and finger/knuckle biting
    • To practice biting/chewing skills without the risk of choking
    • To improve jaw strength, jaw stability, tongue movement, and other feeding skills
    • To satisfy the urge to chew for individuals who are fed through a g-tube
    • To build oral tone, strength, mobility, control, coordination, and endurance
    • To decrease oral sensitivities, oral defensiveness, and food aversions

Made in the USA  Made in the USA by ARK Therapeutic.  Medical grade, FDA compliant, NO lead, phthalates, PVC, BPA, or latex.

Caution Caution: This product is not a toy.  Although these chew tools are sturdy and durable, no chew tool is indestructible.  Wear/tear may be expected given the nature of the intended use.  How long they last is typically equal to the amount and intensity of the chewing, as well as other variables (such as jaw strength, stress/anxiety levels, if other sensory strategies are in place, etc.).  While for some people a chew tool will last forever, for others with heavy/aggressive oral needs, they may go through it very quickly.  Please supervise at all times and replace if necessary if the item shows signs of wear and tear.  For a tougher version of the Y-Chew, check out the XT and XXT options.  Insider tip: encourage individuals to chew on all three extensions to more evenly distribute the chewing.

    Features
    • The handle allows for an easy grip, and the extensions on the top part of the "y" make it easy to reach the back molar area we do most of our chewing.
    • Each arm has a different texture: one smooth, one ribbed, and one with gentle bumps. The varied texture helps introduce new sensations and decrease oral aversions.
    • The handle measures 2½ inches and the extensions measure 1¾ and 1¼ inches respectively.
    • Made in the USA.

    1. A great alternative

This tool is a great alternative for my young clients who chew sleeves, toys, etc. Safe and satisfying!

    2. "Soft" and durable

I'm very happy to find a chew that is BPA/Phthalate/latex/PVC free medical grade material (and made in the US). This chew is a softer material, excellent for a child who chews clothing and needs that flexibility. Thanks for making a great product!

    3. Great tool!!!

My youngest son uses this while watching tv to keep him from sucking his thumb. It works well at keeping his hands and mouth busy!

    4. Awesome for therapy!

This chew is great for working with little ones on munching and development of the rotary chew. I love the pliable material it is made of and the varied textures. It is so versatile with three different sides to choose from and the long portion of the Y makes a great handle for the therapist. Fits perfectly in the hands of little ones as well to provide independent oral stimulation in an appropriate manner. My favorite "chew tool" so far!

    5. Great for Strengthening the Jaw

My 9 month old has weaker cheek and jaw muscles and we were given one of these by his speech therapist. He loves chewing on it and it's really helping to build up his oral motor muscles. I hope hoping this will lead to improved chewing as well and we can move to thicker textured foods.

    6. Save your fingers

My fingers love the the "Y-Chew", I find these perfect to use for mastication exercises, and easy to move from one side to the other...or both!

    7. My son loves to chew on the y chewy

My son would chew on anything but we gave him a y chew and he love it and chews on it.
