Prior to being introduced to this wonder tool, my 3 year old daughter with Downs Syndrome would throw or spit out most of her food. This spool allowed for the correct placement of the food since her tongue lateralization is not yet fully developed. We realize now that most of her throwing was not behavioral, but more that she was not able to get the food onto her molars, where it needed it to be in order to be able to properly chew it. This item has been a God-send to me and my family. |
